In this ukulele tutorial we are going to learn how to play fingerstyle ukulele of the Christmas favorite, Deck The Halls. This is going to be a chord melody, meaning you will play both the chords and the melody of the song at the same time, using your thumb.

This arrangement by me, Terry Carter, is for the intermediate ukulele player. Remember that the melody is king, so no matter what happens with the chords you always want to hear the melody ringing through.

To do this it will require precision and control of your thumb to make sure you only strum the strings necessary to get the melody to ring out.I am using my KoAloha tenor ukulele with a low G, but this arrangement will sound good with a high G as well.

I have put the chords in the video for you to help you learn faster and also learn some new chords shapres.
